When I finished The Riyria Revelations, I thought I was done. I worked hard to wrap up the series in a way I thought satisfying, and based on reader feedback, I've accomplished that goal. But...
My wife became very depressed after the last page. From time to time she would sigh and tell me how much she missed Royce and Hadrian. One day she came to a realization, "You can bring them back anytime you want to!" Her pleas, along with much clamor from the readers led to the creation of The Riyria Chronicles. A trip back in time to see how Royce and Hadrian first met and formed their famous duo.
I wrote and released two books in this series, and have been (and will continue to be) cautious so the pair don't overstay their welcome. Feedback from The Rose and the Thorn has indicated that hasn't yet happened, so there will be a third chronicle tale released in 2015. Here is a bit about the book.
